Privacy policy

My Darkest Creations is run by me, Zach, from Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Anything about this policy or your data goes to hello@mydarkestcreations.com, or see the contact page.

If you sign up, your email address goes into a mailing list hosted by Mailgun. It’s used for one thing: announcing new models.

• Unsubscribe any time with the link in each email, or email me and I’ll take you off the list.
• Mailgun stores the list. How long it keeps records is set by Mailgun’s own policy.
• To stop spam signups, the form keeps your IP address in memory briefly (about ten minutes). It isn’t written anywhere.

The live site runs two analytics tools, so I can see what people read and what gets ignored. Both use cookies.

• Google Analytics 4 records usage: pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser, and clicks on links out to the shops and socials. Google’s privacy policy. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out.
• Microsoft Clarity records the same kind of usage plus interactions on the page, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which it turns into heatmaps and session replays. Microsoft’s privacy statement.

A content blocker stops both. Blocking cookies stops them recognising you between visits. The site works the same either way.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details with each request, and Vercel keeps server logs under its own policy. Vercel Speed Insights also measures how fast each page loads for visitors, along with the page and device type.

The social page shows content from YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Video thumbnails load from YouTube’s and TikTok’s servers. YouTube players use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain and only load when you press play. The first TikTok video starts playing, muted, when you scroll to it, and the Instagram posts and the TikTok profile load as you scroll to them.

Once an embed loads, the company that runs it can set its own cookies and record that you viewed it, under its own privacy policy.

Some links on the tools page and in the guides are affiliate links, mostly to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer uses its own cookies to tell that the sale came from here; Amazon’s privacy notice covers what it collects.

This site takes no payments and has no accounts. Files are sold on Cults3D and finished props on Etsy. When you buy, your name, address and payment details go to them, under their privacy policies, not to this site.

I don’t sell your data, and I don’t pass it to anyone beyond the services named on this page.

To see, correct or delete what I hold about you (in practice, a newsletter address), email hello@mydarkestcreations.com. For data held by Google, Microsoft, Vercel, the embeds or the shops, their own policies explain how to ask them.

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top.
